A Message from Dr. Joni Howard

It is an incredible honor to serve as the principal of McFadden Institute of Technology (MIT). My passion for working with children began while I was still in high school, and I knew early on that education was where I belonged. I began my college journey at Santa Ana College and Cal State Fullerton and went on to serve as a classroom teacher in 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades, as well as a TOSA and Literacy Coach. After earning my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership, I became a school administrator in 2012 and have now proudly served as a principal for more than a decade.

My “why” has always been simple: I believe every child deserves a school where they feel safe, valued, challenged, and inspired to thrive. At MIT, I look forward to honoring what makes our school special while working alongside our staff, students, and families to build an exciting future focused on strong teaching and learning, student voice, and preparing every child for the opportunities ahead.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the MIT family, and I look forward to writing this next chapter together!
